Asian Women - School of Participation

School of Participation, Asian women

Asian Women School of Participation

We have recently completed an extended School of Participation with a group of Asian Women in Salford.

The School of Participation benefited the women in a number of ways. It provided new opportunities and enabled them to:

Meet other Asian women from their area

Share and learn with the group

Reflect on their problems

Develop ideas about how to change things

Look for solutions together

Build confidence

Gain new skills

Find out information about how things work in the UK and how to particpate in community life

Work as a team to plan actions to improve personal and community life.

Now that the School has finished the women have formed a group called Asha. They are now running a drop-in for other women in the area. Please see the flyer for further information.

The group have now found a more permanent venue to meet and are undertaking various training opportunities, e.g. ESOL class and childcare courses.

ASHA Celebration

The women recently had a party to celebrate their achievements.
